Visit villages and towns such as Broadway Chipping Campden Cheltenham and Shakespeare s Stratford-on-Avon. Sporting and leisure facilities in the area include golf at Naunton Downs and Burford and horse racing at Stratford Cheltenham and Worcester. For enthusiastic gardeners Batsford Arboretum and garden centre is close by. Enjoy a day out at the Cotswold Farm Park with a cream tea in Bourton-on-the-Water or a visit to the famous motor museum. The accommodation offers TWO bedrooms approached via cottage style stairs: 1 double and 1 single (with additional pull out bed on request). Bathroom: claw foot bath with WC. Lounge: with TV and DVD. Dining room. Kitchen: well-equipped with electric oven and hob fridge/freezer microwave and washer/dryer. Outside: enclosed courtyard garden with seating. Amenities: free parking available in car park approximately 75m walk; please note you are not able to unload the car at the property. Bed linen towels electric central heating and Wi-Fi included. Regret no smoking. 2 dogs welcome. A 4th person can be accommodated by prior arrangement with the owner. The owner does not feel this property is suitable for the elderly or infirm. Our holiday cottages in Gloucestershire are ideally located for exploring the famous Cotswolds and Gloucestershire is also blessed with the Forest of Dean, one of our ancient woodlands. But there is much more to see in this county that is so rich in history.
The city of Gloucester, for example, is where William the Conqueror ordered the creation of the Domesday Book and the magnificent cathedral here has many connections with the Norman kings of England. With our Gloucestershire cottage holidays, you’re just a short drive away. Make sure Berkeley Castle is also on your itinerary. This 12th century castle has been owned by the Berkeley family since its foundation and is now a fine stately home, packed with art treasures, tapestries, silver, porcelain and furniture.
Then there’s elegant, genteel Cheltenham, with its grand terraces, much frequented by the lords and ladies of Georgian times and now home to some very smart shops. Or step back in time to Tewkesbury, where timbered buildings sit crowded on the banks of the rivers Avon and Severn. And don’t miss bohemian Stroud, where you’ll find a great selection of cafés and pubs.
